I am writing to discuss the payment of a gratuity to Commr Beckwith. It appears that Commr Beckwith seems to have performed his duties satisfactorily, and a gratuity might be given to him. The A.G. proposed a period of 3½ months extra duties during which he performed the duties of the Superintendent for $100 a month.
